Every year, AR and VR fans go to the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to see what’s hot (and what’s not). This CES 2019, developers and manufacturers of virtual and augmented reality gadgets showed us a couple of awesome things. There are new VR headsets and a couple of peripheral devices that make one’s VR experience more memorable. Here are the gadgets that caught our attention:
1. Oculus Quest
Almost all VR companies are excited with the release of Oculus Quest this year. Months before it’s release date (some say it’s 30th April), Oculus let their fans see and experience their newest powerful VR headset.
The Oculus Quest a powerful all-in-one gaming headset. It has no wires, meaning you can play your VR games while you’re on the go. This fine VR headset tracks your movements accurately using its built-in cameras. It knows when you’re standing, sitting, jumping or laying on the floor.
2. Vive Pro Eye
Powered with Tobii eye-tracking technology, the Vive Pro Eye headset gives a more immersive VR experience. What’s more? You can navigate menu options and perform functions with your gaze! It has programs which use eye-tracking technology like Vive Studio and Ovation.
We personally think that this VR headset can do more than just games. This headset will be useful to companies who plan to integrate immersive technology into their business model.
This is one of the coolest VR footwear we saw in CES 2019. The 3DRudder is an addition to your PlayStation VR and it helps you tilt your body, spin up to 360°, and move around your immersive game while sitting on your couch. All you need to do is apply pressure to the device.
4. NordicTrack VR Bike
This is not your ordinary exercise machine. The NordicTrack VR Bike lets you cycle in lovely landscapes, thus making workouts more enjoyable. You can also use it to play VR Bike games like Aeronauts, Bike Messenger, and The Last Rider. Above all, the difficulty of the games increases in every level, pushing you to exert more effort. It offers 10% inclines and declines, which help simulate the changing roads/routes in the games you’re playing. It also features 24 levels of resistance and 16 different pedal positions. The pedals accurately mimic your feet’s movements and you can see your movements synced with the gameplay you see in the headset.
The NordicTrack VR Bike comes with an HTC Vive Focus VR headset and a year-long iFit membership.
This is another VR footwear that caught our attention. It’s the VR footwear that tracks the natural movement of your feet! You wear them with your shoes then you sit on a special rotating stool with a special carpet underneath. All these devices track your movement and sync them in the game you’re playing. You can virtually walk as much as you like!
Another thing we like about CyberShoes is its compatibility with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Microsoft Mixed Reality headsets via Steam. You’re only buying one as an addition to your current VR setup.
6. Pico G2 4K
Saving one of the bests for last. This is an amazing VR headset that you can use for your business. It boasts an internal screen with 4K resolution. Thanks to eye-tracking technology, it has a ‘look and choose’ control option. You don’t need controllers to perform some of the functions. It is light-weight and it won’t strain your back because of a battery that serves as a counterweight to the cover.
The Pico G2 4K also possess 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and is compatible with Pico’s store and Viveport M.
